If you thought that the fashion week festivities ended earlier this month in Paris, think again.
On Oct. 24 and 25 at Center548 in Manhattan, intimate apparel designers will gather to present their spring 2015 collections during the fourth season of Lingerie Fashion Week. Last week, the official designer lineup for the event was revealed, and with more than 25 participating designers, the roster consists of both emerging and established talents from throughout the world.
"We are ecstatic with this season's lineup, our highest participation yet at 25+ designers," Lingerie Fashion Week founder Lauren Rich told us.
While some designers are participating in Lingerie Fashion Week for the first time, such as Love Cage and Play Out, others are event veterans who are excited to return.
Pin-up powerhouse Secrets in Lace is returning for a second season after a successful first show that earned the brand a lot of press. For its debut Lingerie Fashion Week show, Secrets in Lace president Dan Whitsett said the brand eschewed the typical runway format for something more unique - and event that featured diverse models and a burlesque show.
"Instead of having tall, skinny fashion models with serious looks on their faces, we had a wide variety of body types, and we told the models to go out on the runway and have fun. I think that got a lot of people's attention," Whitsett told us.
This season, Whitsett said Secrets in Lace will host another burlesque performance in the middle of its runway show and will also incorporate live music by jazz sensation Brian Newman, who has worked with Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, into the event.
"We've got a number of different exciting things that we're going to do this time. We've got a lot of stuff going on."
New this season at Lingerie Fashion Week is THE SUITE, a press preview concept that is meant to give designers the opportunity to showcase their collections in a more intimate setting. Lingerie Fashion Week guests who check out THE SUITE will be able to see the holiday and spring 2015 collections of participating brands up close, in addition to meeting and speaking with designers. Affinitas & Parfait, Andrée Ciccarelli, Fruit of the Loom, GemPicket, Harlow & Fox, Layneau, Lola Haze, NaïS, Nevaeh Intimates, Play Out Underwear, Secrets in Lace, Soak Wash, Suzy Black, The Giving Bride, Tia Lyn, Toru & Naoko and You! Lingerie are all slated to participate in THE SUITE this season.
This season of Lingerie Fashion Week will also feature a Ones to Watch exhibition, a Ones to Watch: BRITISH INVASION presentation and a multi-designer Made in the USA runway show.
"Not only as the foundation to your outfit (and your day's confidence), the influence of intimates can be seen everywhere you look - on the fashion runways, on the bridal runways, in street style, in pop culture, etc. No longer an afterthought, lingerie has effectively established itself as a major player in the overall fashion industry. Lingerie Fashion Week is a stage designed to further solidify the industry's relevance amongst the greater conversation on fashion and in turn, consumerism," Rich told us.
If you're interested in taking part in the Lingerie Fashion Week fun but aren't a member of the press with an invite, you can purchase tickets to this season's Closing Benefit, which is an open-to-the-public event that consists of a runway show and a two hour open bar soirée. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 20% of all ticket sales will benefit PinkChoseMe Foundation, a non-profit organization working to educate, uplift and support women whose lives have been affected by breast cancer.
