Not only is Barneys New York currently housing Jay Z's highly anticipated Christmas collection, but the upscale department store is now also the first to sell the Pantone Universe Colorwear men's wear collection.
The European-made classic styles were created in vibrant colors and make their debut on Thursday in the retailer's Miami store, WWD reported.
Pantone, a New Jersey-based company that is widely known as the global authority on color, has experimented with watches, teapots and coffee mugs, among other things, but this collection marks its first foray into sportswear.
The color forecasting company's spring line features a variety of athletic garments, including T-shirts, tank tops, pants, shorts and sweaters, in addition to hoodies, jackets, accessories and swimwear.
Barneys will sell this collection exclusively until February when this Pantone Universe Colorwear range will be offered to other select retailers. Unfortunately for all the athletic females out there, there currently aren't any plans to launch a women's line.
In addition to revealing this new collection, Pantone also recently announced its selection for the 2014 color of the year.
While Emerald is known as a radiant jewel tone that is associated with luxury and sophistication, Radiant Orchid was described in a statement released by Pantone as being "an enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones. Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm."
With its rosy undertones that radiate on the skin and produce a healthy glow, Radiant Orchid is a surprisingly versatile color that can be worn by both men and women, despite its feminine feel.
According to the statement, Radiant Orchid is a color that "encourages expanded creativity and originality" and had a strong showing on the spring 2014 runways.
