Attention all procrastinators: There's still a chance for you to scoop up some last-minute Christmas gifts for those people you have yet to cross off your shopping list.
Zady, a lifestyle destination for conscious consumers, has teamed up with Vespa, an American scooter company, to launch "Operation: Santa" in New York and help customers with their last-minute shopping.
Together the two companies are working to give shoppers the opportunity to buy last-minute gifts to present to their loved one's on Christmas Day - even as late as Christmas Eve - with deliveries from couriers who are dressed as Santa Claus. These festive delivery men will ride on state-of-the-art Vespas throughout New York City to make these deliveries.
"Operation: Santa" orders must be made on Zady.com been noon on December 23 and noon on December 24. Items will be delivered within Brooklyn and Manhattan between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on December 24, giving you just enough time to wrap them and find a place for them under the tree.
"'With 'Operation: Santa,' as well as our holiday pop-up store, we are [pleased] to have the opportunity to experiment with other avenues for establishing a multichannel presence as we grow our brand. We are [pleased] to have Piaggio Group [makers of Vespa] as our partner in this endeavor," Zady cofounder Soraya Darabi told WWD.
Melissa MacCaull, vice president of Piaggio Group Americas, said that Zady's successful system of connecting with global brands it might not otherwise work with is reflected in this partnership, which is a first-time venture for both companies.
"Being able to interact with our customers directly is something that is important to us, especially as we continue to share the stories of the brands that we sell on Zady," said Maxine Bédat, cofounder of Zady.
Zady, which just launched in August, also has a holiday pop-up shop located in the Delta Terminal at New York's LaGuardia Airport. It will remain open until Jan. 4.
