For Pre-Fall 2016, Los Angeles-based Trina Turk was inspired by the dynamic city of Rio de Janeiro. It certainly showed in her choice of colors, prints and silhouettes. There was no outerwear or wool in this collection which was as summery in feel as they come. This was all part of the designer's "wear now" philosophy bearing in mind the line will arrive in stores as early as June.
Slip dresses, jumpsuits and separates for women and suits and separates for men were rendered in vivid hues of red, pink and tangerine contrasted with neutral shades. Prints were either large-scale or in placements.
Details, including trapunto stitching on belts, hot pink top-stitching on an olive military-inspired jacket and tassels and fringe on hemlines, were classic Trina Turk touches.
