New York Design Week 2016: 28 Most Memorable Designs Spotted During NYCxDesign

For 12 days, New York City gets bombarded with tradeshows, exclusive exhibitions and exciting launch events for NYCxDesign. This two-week-long design fair invites designers and architects from around the globe to showcase their latest collections.

New York Design Week allows thousands of industry members and design enthusiasts to get a first look of what's happening in the realm of interiors -- from furniture and accessories to lighting and unique objects.

Our design editor scouted for the most interesting designs from NYCxDesign. Discover her favorites below!

1. "Glove Cabinet" designed by Finn Juhl for Lost City Arts.

This glove cabinet was originally designed in 1961 and was part of a bedroom suite. There are ten color coated trays made of handmade solid Japanese cherry, legs in burnished steel and castors in solid brass.

2. "Bedside Carafe" designed by Anna Karlin Studio.

The Bedside Carafe is made from hand-blown glass and is offered in four color ways. The top of the carafe can be used as a cup!

3. "Cintola Maxi Pendant" designed by Tom Kirk for Tom Kirk Lighting.

The light design combines hand-blown glass diffusers with an anodised aluminum body. The glass is available in various colors.

4. "Tocador" Vanity Table designed by Nomon Home.

The Tocador vanity table is composed of solid walnut, glass mirror and velvet cushion.

5. "Waldhexen" table designed by Ian Stell for Patrick Parrish Gallery.

Ian Stell's distinctive furniture designs are composed of dyed maple and feature internal brass pivots.

6. "Orion Tall Fior Capsules" designed by oOumm.

These candle containers have been created by ceramic artist Dan Yeffet and are composed of marble.

7. "Warp Core" lamp designed by Chen Chen + Kai Williams for 99 Cent Gallery.

The "Warp Core" lamp is made of resin composite that includes the remains from studio projects at Chen Chen + Kai Williams.

8. "Iris Chair" designed by Merve Kahraman.

The Iris chair is inspired by the personification of the rainbow in greek mythology. The design is composed of Kvadrat fabric and brass-finished metal.

9. "Hash Coat Rack" designed by New Tendency.

This coat rack is a versatile storage piece consisting of four intersecting rods and entirely made of polished brass.

10. "Platform Bowl" designed by Jamie Wolfond for Good Thing.

The "Platform Bowl" is comprised of ash and powder coated steel. The design can be combined in stacks to create a tiered display.

12. "Single Sofa | The Crates Series" by Naihan Li for Gallery ALL.

Chair is composed of black walnut, mirror-finish stainless steel; the cushion is made with imported pure cotton fabric and high-elastic sponge with duck feather filling.

13. Indoor Swing by Iota Project.

Iota Project swing is composed of oak wood and cotton ropes with hand-knitted details.

16. "Design Chess" by kinder MODERN.

kinder MODERN presented a life-size interactive game of "design chess," featuring kinderGROUND geometric carpet and "chess chairs" crafted by international designers such as Matthew Sullivan, WINTERCHECK, FACTORY, Matthew Yates, Mexa and Dan Michalik.

17. "Liane Pendant" by Larose Guyon.

Copper-plated lighting fixture.

18. "Fade Series" by MMaterial.

Designed by Fernando Mastrangelo, the Fade Series desk and drum stool are entirely made of cement.

19. "Roberta Hanging Plant Pot" for Bloc Studios.

A hanging plant pot made of Carrara marble designed by Thévoz-Choquet for Bloc Studios.

20. "Hyperlink" by Erich Ginder.

A series of customizable modular light fixture units that can be either mounted to the wall or hung from the ceiling to create chain-like compositions.

21. "Hoop" Umbrella Stand by NAK NAK.

Designer Mika re-imagines an antique umbrella stand, and the design is composed of a cast-iron base and slender oval wire.

22. "Infiniti Units" by Concrete Cat.

Handmade concrete blocks offered in a variety of unique patterns.

23. "Pete & Nora Floor Lamp" by Egg Collective.

A polished stainless steel design with hand blown glass shades. The lamp is activated by touch sensor.

24. "Lawless Chair" by Evan Fay.

The Lawless Chair represents irregularity within a system. It is an artistic response to the structures of today's society.

25. Crescent Light Series by Lee Broom.

Lee Broom's New York pop up launched in conjunction with NYCxDesign and presents the "Crescent Light" series. The light design is an illuminated sphere sliced asymmetrically in half to reveal a crescent-shaped brushed brass fascia.

26. "Sixzero Metallic Wall Hanging" by Julie Thévenot.

Julie Thévenot designs wall hangings composed of wood, cotton, brass and tinsel, and designs are customizable by color, material and size.

27. "Concentric" Light Designs by Rob Zinn for Marset.

Rob Zinn's first collection with Marset is inspired by the effect of sunlight while traveling by airplane. The interaction between light and the reflection of color present unique visual vibrations. The "Concentric" designs are featured in three different sizes and color combinations.

28. "Suspended Confetti Sculpture" designed by Chiaozza and Studio Proba.

Terri Chiao and Adam Frezza collaborated with Studio Proba to create a confetti sculpture made of character cut-outs from reflective and iridescent materials.
