Wildfox is mixing things up for spring with the debut of a collection designed with some help from six fashion influencers.
The collection, called Sun Kissed, consists of 19 pieces for the spring/summer 2017 season that range in price from $118 to $198.
To design the collection, which features jumpsuits, off-the-shoulder tops, striped dresses and joggers, Wildfox enlisted the help of Halley Elefante of The Salty Blonde, Jill Wallace of Little Black Boots, Los Angeles-based wardrobe stylist Ann-Marie Hoang, fashion writer Alyssa Coscarelli, Whitney Scherillo of Whitney Bearr and Nikia Provenzano of Mad Maven Style.
"It's just a different approach to something. These are very talented people so [it was about] let's see what Instagram turns into. Let's have some of our own influencers put their shtick on things for Wildfox," Wildfox CEO and cofounder Jimmy Sommers told WWD.
This influencer design partnership is a first for Wildfox, but Sommers told WWD it probably won't be the last.
"It's something new and fresh and exciting. We've been here now almost 10 years, starting with T-shirts. Now we're doing a bunch of different stuff. This is one of our new things," he said.
Earlier this week, images from social media influencer and model-of-the-moment Gigi Hadid's capsule collection with Tommy Hilfiger were revealed.
The collection, which will be available in stores and online at Tommy.com beginning Sept. 1, includes sportswear, footwear, a new fragrance and accessories like watches and sunglasses.
"I never thought I would be asked to design a capsule collection, so it still feels like a dream that Tommy approached me to collaborate. His company is one that I genuinely love and have been a fan of for my entire life, and Tommy is the easiest, most fun person to work with," Hadid said in a statement when the collaboration was first announced.
"I have always looked up to his brand, campaigns and design style. I think our collection celebrates the iconic Tommy lifestyle and mixes a bit of everything: there are styles that are really hippie-chic, styles that are sporty streetwear and styles that are tomboy but girly. Everyone's is going to love a different part of it," the model added.
