John Varvatos is a huge rock n' roll fan, so his latest collaboration makes perfect sense.
The designer recently teamed with music merchandise specialist Bravado to design a capsule collection for Guns N' Roses' Not in This Lifetime reunion tour, WWD reported.
The 15-piece capsule features handpainted leather jackets ($1,195), bomber jackets ($425), T-shirts (starting at $40) and baseball caps (starting at $25). The collection will be sold in a special pop-up shop — which opens today — within Varvatos' West Hollywood boutique on Melrose Avenue.
John Varvatos is celebrating the new pop-up shop with an opening party Friday from 3-7 p.m. PT. The first 50 guests will receive a limited-edition Guns N' Roses T-shirt. Additionally, guests can enter to win one of two Not in This Lifetime prize packages to be awarded at the event. Each package includes two concert tickets to one of the band's shows in Dodger Stadium and two "Welcome to the Jungle" pit experiences, valued at $2,000.
The Not in This Lifetime tour ends Feb. 21 at Domain Stadium in Perth, Australia.
Varvatos just debuted a new store in the recently opened Westfield World Trade Center building in NYC. The 2,900-square-foot store is located within Westfield's Oculus, the building's beautiful Santiago Calatrava-designed centerpiece. The new store features all of John Varvatos' offerings, including the John Varvatos Collection, John Varvatos Star U.S.A. and Converse by John Varvatos.
"It has very special meaning to open in the new Santiago Calatrava-designed building at the site of the World Trade Center. To me, it is a statement of the strength of NYC and a message to everyone on not being intimidated by the evil minority in this crazy world. This represents a strong message of love to all the lives lost and affected by 9/11." the designer said in a press release.
