Back in May, it was announced that Peter Lindbergh will shoot the 2017 Pirelli Calendar.
Now, the upcoming calendar's stars have been revealed. For 2017, Pirelli tapped a slew of talented actresses, including Charlotte Rampling, Uma Thurman, Nicole Kidman, Lea Seydoux, Alicia Vikander, Kate Winslet, Julianne Moore, Robin Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Rooney Mara, Jessica Chastain, Penelope Cruz, Helen Mirren and Zhang Ziyi, as well as Moscow State University professor Anastacia Ignatova, who's credited as a special guest.
The 2017 Pirelli Calendar marks the third one Lindbergh has shot, which is more editions than any other photographer has shot. He worked with the calendar stars throughout four weeks in May and June in Berlin, London, Los Angeles, Le Touquet (North of France) and New York.
The 2017 calendar is, as Lindbergh told Vogue, "a love song to the women I really know and really like, and there's no exception. Everyone in this calendar, at one point in my life, I wanted to marry, and I didn't have the balls to ask them!"
For the 2016 calendar, shot by Annie Leibovitz, Pirelli took a major departure from its traditional aesthetic — one with nude or nearly nude young models — an opted to feature a wide range of inspiring, accomplished women like Serena Williams, Yoko Ono and Tavi Gevinson on the cover.
