Designer and artist Heron Preston collaborated with Foundation for New York's Strongest to Raise Awareness for 0X30 — the Department of Sanitation's Zero Waste Initiative.
At the start of the New York Fashion Week collections, Preston debuted a series of up-cycled DSNY merchandise and workwear essentials at the DSNY Salt Shed on Wednesday, Sept. 7. The fashion collaboration aims to highlight and spread awareness for the 0x30 initiative — New York City's goal to send zero waste to landfills by the year 2030.
The collection — "Uniform" — is the first of an ongoing series of collaborations Heron will produce with DNSY within the year to ignite awareness. As a result, many celebrities and well known fashion industry insiders came to show their support including Waris Ahluwalia, Chelsea Leyland, Lucien Smith, Maxwell Asbourne, Dao-Yi Chow, Dev Hynes, Ashley Smith and so on.
