When it comes to fashion week, New York, London, Milan and Paris are typically the cities that come to mind. But the truth is, there are fashion week events taking place in cities all throughout the world.
Later this month, 26 designers will show off their spring/summer 2017 collections at Fashion Week San Diego, a bi-annual event launched in 2012.
Fashion Week San Diego will kick off on Sept. 29 with a special event focused on hair, makeup and art with a presentation by artist Shane Bowden. On Sept. 30, 13 of the 26 designers will present their collections during a runway show at Hotel La Jolla, and the remaining 13 will do the same on Oct. 1. This season's event will come to a close on Oct. 2 with an awards ceremony and a trunk show where guests can shop the participating brands and meet with the designers.
"This is going to be another great year for Fashion Week San Diego. This year, our designers span the globe, from India to Africa and Eastern Europe. The collections will showcase a wide range of unique influences from around the world. I'm really looking forward to sharing their talent and collections with San Diego and all of Southern California," Allison Andrews, founder and director, said in a statement.
