Contrary to what some people may think, a musical artist's actual "job" is not solely tied to making their songs. Most of the tons and tons of millions they make actually come from riding a bus from place to place and setting up concerts in certain cities and other places.

But more than just a money maker, these tours also serve artists to get closer to their fans and other supporters. Furthermore, the constant travel from place to place can also help the philanthropists among them to personally extend their much celebrated helping hand to the places they visit.

And this may be just what French and Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne intends upon extending her ongoing, self-titled "The Avril Lavigne Tour" into the South American region, The Huffington Post reported.

The 29-year-old fashion designer, philanthropist, occasional actress, and "Complicated" hitmaker has just posted on Monday, March 17, a new list of updated tour dates into Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico.

After the wrap up of the South American leg of her tour, Lavigne will then join the Backstreet Boys in their tour across North America.

In addition to promoting her album "Avril Lavigne," which hit stores last November, she has expressed her excitement working with the boy band via a Twitter post saying "so excited to be joining the @BackstreetBoys on the US leg of their In A World Like This tour!"
