Back in December, we reported that a new reality TV series focused on Diane von Furstenberg was in the works.
At the time, not much information about the forthcoming TV show was revealed, other than that it was temporarily being called "DVF DocuSeries" and would air on a "major cable network."
But now, a new press release has been sent out with more details about the show. It was announced on Tuesday that the untitled TV program will air on E!, although an official debut date has not been revealed yet.
According to the press release, the docu-series "explores the relationships between an ultra-successful boss who controls the fashion world and her eight eager-to-please associates in training." More specifically, the show will follow several fashionistas as they compete to become a brand ambassador for von Furstenberg and her company.
The show's winner, who will be chosen during New York Fashion Week when the show culminates, will have the opportunity to travel the world representing von Furstenberg's brand at various cultural gatherings and fashion events, such as store openings.
So who exactly is competing for this coveted role? According to the casting flyer that was sent out in December, any "smart and driven fashionistas who appear to be 20-25 and are interested in learning the ins and outs of the fashion industry from one of America's most legendary fashion icons" are encouraged to apply. An interest in fashion is a must, but there aren't any work experience or education requirements. The ideal candidates are those who are "smart, sophisticated and savvy people with a great sense of style who want to learn the business from the best."
Von Furstenberg will serve as an executive producer of the show, which is being produced by Electus, the same company that is responsible for "Fashion Star" and "Mob Wives"
