Fall is a rite of passage for many clothes. Everything from jeans to light coats finally make that long journey from the back of your closet to on your body. Perhaps nothing is more synonymous with fall, however, than button-downs.
The shirts are staples of many work wardrobes. Not to mention lazy Sundays lounging around the house. Of course, the latter calls for the roomier, oversized interpretations. Or some buttons being left open.
This year we're skipping crazy prints in favor of solids, stripes and tonal patterns. The color spectrum is quite broad, though. Shy away from highlighter brights, but embrace a few nontraditional shades. Think butter yellow and more pumpkin-like orange. As usual, you can never go wrong with a classic white shirt.
