Everyone was a tad surprised when Zac Posen joined Gap as its EVP and creative director of Gap Inc. The designer's namesake brand was a red carpet and fashion week fixture so many people didn't see it coming. Although Posen silenced any naysayers pretty early on with GapStudio's first offering with nine items completely selling out. Now he's out with the GapStudio Summer Drop.
The lineup revolves around three essential fabrics: denim, chambray and voile. Regarding the former, this isn't your typical rigid material that many avoid sporting at all in summer at all costs. The collection's draped denim boasts a liquid-soft hand feel and lightness that offers an effortless flow literally made for warm weather. "It's about the sensation of that first walk along the ocean in jeans," explains Posen. See the sun-faded Mid Rise Draped Denim Baggy Jeans, the Draped Denim Romper with shell snaps, the sculptural High Rise Draped Denim Trousers and a Voile and Draped Denim Shirtdress dubbed the "Gaptan." There's also voile separates and crepe dresses. Lila Moss along with Posen appear in the accompanying campaign.
Prices start at $54 and go up to $148. You can find the GapStudio Summer Drop at seven Gap stores nationwide as well as on Gap.com.
