Halloween is almost upon us. Maybe you've had your costume planned out for months. Or maybe you're still racking your brain trying to come up with something. If you fall into the latter category, we're here to help. We've hunted down the best Halloween makeup inspiration straight from the runways.
Way before Barbiecore, Moschino paid tribute to the famous Mattel doll via its Spring 2015 collection. There are almost as many Barbie-inspired looks as Barbie's careers over the years. We're betting you already have something pink hanging in your closet and pink makeup on your vanity.
Ghosts can be spooky and elegant. Especially if you focus on a particular time period. Like the Roaring '20s or the French Revolution. Nobody did old-school glamour better than Marie Antoinette.
You can also make mummies and vampires chic. Note we didn't say sexy. We're going for sophisticated allure here. A vampire decked out in a veil and dark lipstick is divine. You don't need to wrap yourself from head to toe to transform yourself into a mummy. All you need is a makeup-created white band or two for the same effect.
One of the spookiest costumes of all? Transforming into one of those porcelain dolls that somehow always seems sinister. Skip working in any demon accents because the doll is scary enough on its own. Use one of your many cottagecore dresses and ballerina flats to complete the shudder-worthy look.
Here's the best Halloween makeup inspo the runways have to offer. If you've got several parties to attend, switch things up throughout the night. Just make sure to invest in a strong makeup remover since you'll have lots to take off.
If you prefer sweet not scary, try covering your face and décolletage with flower petals. It lets you beautifully pull off anything from a bouquet to a princes.
Red and black diamantés along with some crimson eyeliner looks a lot like blood. Restrict some streaks to one side of your face and draw even more attention to your eyes with flashy eyeliner underneath your peepers plus some extended flicks. A soft pink lip serves as an ideal contrast.
The heavy black eyeshadow underneath eyes, the glossy black lip, the bleached eyebrows and partial finger waves serve flapper ghost glamour.
Try this strategic blue eyeliner if you plan on dressing up as a punk rock star or an alien...
Combining red and bronze eyeshadows makes these devilish eyes more stylish than scary.
You should still expect to see lots of Barbies on Halloween night. Make sure you stand out from the pink pack by channeling Workin' Out Barbie with long eyelashes, a bright pink pout and as many fitness accessories as you can handle.
All vampire brides need a veil and moody purple lips. Fangs not required.
There's something very mermaid about this look. The mix of metallic eye makeup and soaked strands says under-the-sea glamour.
Go as the long departed ghost of Marie Antoinette. Dark eyeliner, pink eyeshadow and a muted lip enhance the effect.
Look as pretty as a painting by applying some white stripes to your hair, then add in negative space eyeliner and red lipstick. Carry a frame as an accessory to make sure your artwork is appreciated.
Another possible alien encounter, but we think this reads more like a mostly unwrapped mummy with a flashy gold pucker.
A truly abstract and kinda punk take on the classic ladybug.
Nothing's creepier than a pretty porcelain doll. Make sure to include the rosy cheeks and splotchy coral lipstick.
