In these expensive times, thrifting and vintage shopping are surging in popularity. They also help the planet, which only enhances the appeal. Even arguably the most popular brand in the world is reinforcing circular design practices with its upcycled series featuring classic pieces from stores and markets worldwide. Its latest offering is Miu Miu Upcycled by Catherine Martin.

The four-time, Academy Award-winning costume, production and set designer refashions a collection inspired by the 20s photographs of Jacques Henri Lartigue, which were only discovered in the 60s. The concept is to combine things that don't naturally go together. Like turning T-shirts into gowns or transforming jeans and plain tees into wide beach trousers. "Miu Miu Upcycled gives new life to old clothes, and in the process, transforms them into the ultimate luxury, where love and attention makes something more precious than it was before," explains Martin. There's even a short film to go with the collection. Grande Envie stars Callina Liang, Daisy Ridley, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Diana Silvers, Eliot Sumner and even Willem Dafoe in a ghost love-triangle story. Then there's the accompanying ad campaign photographed by Michella Bredahl.
