SEOUL, South Korea — The 25th-anniversary edition of Seoul Fashion Week (SFW) made a bold debut Monday with a runway show staged along the centuries-old stonewall of Deoksu Palace, marking the first time the city's premier fashion event ventured beyond its longtime venue at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).

Andersson Bell (a contemporary Seoul-based fashion brand) opened the Spring/Summer 2026 season under the theme "Soft Clash," weaving together harmonious contradictions inspired by Mark Rothko's color-field paintings and the rebellious energy of 1990s icons like PJ Harvey and Jarvis Cocker. Despite a 30-minute rain delay, the event drew a full house—among them K-pop stars IVE's Gaeul, Tomorrow X Together's Hueningkai, and Hearts2Hearts's Ian and Jiwoo.

The week ahead promises more cultural integration with runway shows and presentations scheduled across Seoul landmarks such as Hongje Yuyeon, Heungcheonsa Temple, Oil Tank Culture Park, and the DDP Art Hall and EQL Seongsu-dong. A Berlin Showroom debuting at MCM Seoul in Gangnam (Sept. 2–3) will feature twelve Berlin Fashion Week brands making their Korea debut. Official Website of theSeoul Metropolitan Government For business engagement, a trade exhibition featuring 74 brands will run at DDP Thursday through Saturday.
