The game of designer musical chairs is still being played. Gucci, Chloe, Moschino and Blumarine are all under new management so to speak. The new creative forces recently debuted their first offerings for their respective fashion houses. So it's super surprising to discover that one of these designers is already moving on.

Newly-minted creative director of Blumarine Walter Chiapponi announced he's leaving his post. It seems to be an amicable split, however, with both the designer and the company that owns Blumarine releasing supportive statements.

"My thanks for this experience go first and foremost to Marco Marchi, who made it possible, but also to all those without whom I wouldn't have been able to express myself as I did," writes Chiapponi on Instagram. "I now want to concentrate on new initiatives and projects with a social and humanitarian scope before returning at a later date, at the right time, to the catwalk."

"I am grateful to Walter Chiapponi for pouring so much of himself into this collection," says Marchi. "It has been an extraordinary adventure."

An exact reason for the breakup hasn't been revealed. We'll just have to wait and see who will take over the Italian fashion house next.
