Like the rest of the world, we were sad to hear in an announcement from The Princess of Wales that she had cancer. Her emotional video put an end to months of speculation and conspiracy theories about her whereabouts and the focus has now shifted to an outpouring of support and best wishes from around the globe. A statement from Kensington Palace said William and Kate were "enormously touched" by all the supportive messages they received.

Responding to the Princess' announcement on her official Instagram page Gwyneth Paltrow commented, ""A pillar of grace and strength! Sending love." King Charles also commended Kate on her bravery, saying in a statement issued from Buckingham Palace, "His Majesty is 'so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did."

In the media, it's easy to jump to conclusions and we acknowledge that Princess Kate is also Kate, a 42-year-old mother of four who deserves privacy as she faces one of the most challenging times in her life and for her family. Like the many celebrities, high profile figures, and fashion royalty — including legendary fashion photographer Mario Testino who took the official engagement photos of Prince William and Princess Kate along with beautiful candid photographs of the late Diana Princess of Wales — we send Princess Kate our heartfelt best wishes for her treatment and recovery.
