Tube Dresses

Everything old is new again. Decades gone by are somehow working their way into the 2020s. The 80s returned bringing with them strong shoulders, the 90s resurgence reintroduced us to square-toe sandals and the early aughts are literally everywhere. Now two 2000s mainstays are coming together to solve wardrobe woes now and later.

Tube dresses were all the rage. The formfitting pieces simply scream summer, especially the mini variety. Rocking a tube dress is an easy way to beat the heat since your shoulders and most of your legs are exposed.

Wearing dresses over pants is another throwback that's finding new life. Several designers sent the classic combos down their Fall 2023 runways. It's a great way to extend the amount of time you can flaunt your favorite summer dresses.

So it only makes sense to combine the two crazes. But it's a bit of a balancing act. The fabric needs to have enough give to slip the dress on over whatever pair of pants you've picked out. That's why minis are the preferred silhouette.

Here are the top tube-type dresses to immediately show off on their own and with pants come fall, including one serving Carrie Bradshaw's infamous naked dress vibes.
