Gwen Stefani may have been one of the quintessential IT girls of the early aughts, but her latest cover for NYLON's Spring/Summer 2024 issue proves that her reign isn't ending anytime soon. The pop superstar's appearance marks the publication's return to print and its 25th anniversary, in which she opens up about music, motherhood, and enjoying life with husband Blake Shelton.

Stefani also poses in a slew of avant-garde outfits reflective of her evolution from singer to industry and fashion legend. In a show of her maximalist trailblazing style, the iconic Stefani is seen in a nude shimmery catsuit with feathers and a black quilted skirt set adorned with spikes, styled by Jan Quammie. She then appears in a Sportmax dress along with Patricia Von Musulin earrings.

While every ensemble presented is nothing short of groundbreaking, Stefani's red outfit might be her most innovative style moment to date. As she stares into the distance while holding onto a see-through mannequin, the "Just a Girl" artist dons a latex dress with lace-up snakeskin boots, red gloves, her signature red lip, and the pièce de résistance of the look — a resin, sculptural masterpiece.

The one-of-one design was carefully crafted by Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist Kim Mesches, whose designs have been worn by Cardi B, Normani, and Ashley Graham. Inspired by movement and organic flow, the designer treats each piece like a painting, and this case was no different. "Gwen's piece includes a reworked piece from one of my original samples from Collection 4, which came back cracked from a shoot. So I'm glad I got to reuse it for a good cause!", Mesches tells Fashion Times. "Her style is so eclectic and iconic so it was fun to work on."

If you're just as obsessed as us, further bask in the beauty of Stefani's looks and Mesches' exclusive design ahead.
